Dry Needling

WHAT IS DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is a skilled technique used by physical therapists to treat muscle pain and movement impairments. It involves inserting very thin, sterile needles directly into tight muscles or trigger points-areas of muscle that are knotted or causing pain.

Dry Needling

BENEFITS OF DRY NEEDLING:

  • Reduces Muscle Tension: Targets tight or “knotted” muscles to relieve discomfort.

  • Decreases Pain: Helps manage acute and chronic pain by reducing trigger point sensitivity.

  • Improves Range of Motion: Releases muscle restrictions, allowing for better joint and muscle movement.

  • Enhances Recovery: Speeds up healing after injury or intense workouts.

  • Supports Nervous System Function: Promotes improved communication between nerves and muscles.

  • Complements Physical Therapy: Works alongside exercise, manual therapy, and rehabilitation programs for better results.

  • Promotes Overall Function: Improves posture, mobility, and daily performance.
